Introduction
With the project “Raum für neue Mobilität” (RaMo) , the Wetterau district is pursuing the goal of establishing sustainable mobility stations in its municipalities and expanding them to the entire Frankfurt Rhine Main region in the long term. The focus is on digital networks and the spatial grouping of sustainable modes of transport and mobility services – for environmentally friendly, accessible, and efficient mobility.
The project is being implemented under the leadership of the Regionalverband FrankfurtRheinMain in close cooperation with the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) and RheinMain University of Applied Sciences. In order to give the product a consistent appearance and create a recognizable brand, we were asked to develop a module catalog. At the same time, a logo was created to strengthen the visual identity of the project (design: dbf.design Frankfurt).
Design concept with local relevance
A memorable, continuous banderole visually connects all modules of the mobility stations and makes the mobility services clearly and visibly recognizable in public spaces. It serves as a key design element and creates a high degree of recognition.
The buildings and furniture are based on simple grid sizes, which enable flexible planning and economical production. By using different materials such as wood, perforated sheet metal, or glass, the modules can be customized and adapted to the respective environment. There is a particular focus on local relevance: the design and choice of materials should reflect the identity of the location, thereby strengthening acceptance and identification among the population.
